Introduction and Aim: Nowedays vitamin A consumption to compensate for the lack of it in the body or healing of skin disorders without considering respective side effects is so common.In this research the protective effect of saffron hydro alcoholic extracts on liver enzymes following vitamin A toxicity was investigated .
Materials and Methods: In the experimental study 48 rats were divided into 6 groups of 8 , namely control, sham and 4experimental.Control group didn’t received anythings , sham group received only distilled water. The experimental group 1 Number 1 received saffron hydro alcoholic extract with 50mg/kg dose for 15 days.Experimental groups 3, 4, 5, initially received vitamin A 50000IU for 15 days. The experimental groups 4,5 received saffron hydro alcoholic extract with 50,80 (mg/kg )dose for 15 days. At the end of this period ,blood was collected from the hearts for measuring the amounts of AST ,ALT and ALP.Obtained data were statistically analyzed using statistical tests including one way variance analysis and tukey test . Background: Magnesium is a unique element among the trace elements, because it plays a role in a vast range of metabolic processes such as carbohydrate, lipid, protein, and the integrity of nucleic acids. Noting the role of this element in the physiological activity of organelles and tissues and the importance of the regulation of thyroid hormone levels in the body, this study considered the effect of esculent magnesium sulfate on the values of TSH, T3, and T4 hormones.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 40 adult male Wistar rats weighing nearly 190-200 g were used. The rats were divided into five groups of eight: the experimental groups received 2, 4, and 8 molars of edible magnesium sulfate solution, respectively, while the control group received nothing. The sham group received only distilled water. The prescription was continued for 28 days and bleeding the heart was done to measure the mentioned factors of the serum. The mean concentration of the hormones was analyzed using suitable statistical methods, such as ANOVA and Tukey’s test, and compared between the control and experimental groups.
Results: The statistical analysis showed that the concentrations of TSH, T3, and T4 hormones increased significantly after receiving the different values of magnesium sulfate compared with the control group (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Based on the results of this investigation, magnesium sulfate in the last 28 days increased the thyroid activity leading to increased serum levels of TSH, T3, and T4 hormones.

Background and Purpose: Lamotrigine is a novel potential antiepileptic drug which is not structurally dependent on the current antiepileptic drugs; it has fewer side effects too. The present study intends to assess the effects of Lamotrigine on the antinociceptive activity induced by morphine by using the formalin test as a test of nociception. Methods and Materials: This experimental study was conducted on 56 adult male rats. The animals were divided into seven groups of eight rats considered as one control one sham and five experimental groups (one group receiving 2mg/Rat of morphine alone three groups receiving 2mg/Rat morphine accompanied by Lamotrigine in doses of 25 50 and 75 mg/Rat and the fifth group receiving only 75 mg/Rat of Lamotrigine alone). The drugs were intraperitoneally injected 15 minutes before the formalin test. The sham group received the same volume of physiologic serum and the control group received formalin alone. The study data were analyzed in SPSS using Tukey and Kruskal Wallis test; level of significance was considered to be 0.05. Background and Purpose: While aloe vera has the capability of reducing libido regulating menstruation and being widely used there is scarce information on the effect of its alcoholic extract on the functions of pituitary-gonad axis. Therefore the present study aims at investigating the effect of Aloe vera alcoholic extract on spermatogenesis in male rat. Methods and Materials: In this experimental; study 45 male Wistar rats were divided in to five groups including 1 control 1 sham and three experimental groups. Each rat in the experimental groups was treated orally with 50 100 and 150 (mg/kg) doses of Aloe vera alcoholic extract for twenty one days after the extract was prepared via percolation. The sham group received distilled water and alcohol; while control rats received nothing. After twenty one days blood samples were taken from each group directly from ventricles. Blood samples were used to measure the concentration changes of LH FSH and testosterone hormones. Obtained data were statistically analyzed using Tukey test and LSD. Results: Concentrations of FSH in the average and maximum experimental groups (2.963.51 and 2.154.85 respectively) significantly reduced in comparison with the control group (3.112.16). Also concentrations of testosterone in the average and maximum experimental groups (6.183.41 and 3.925.27 respectively) significantly reduced in comparison with the control group (6.857.19). However no significant changes were observed in the concentrations of LH across experimental and control groups. Conclusion: Based on the results Aloe vera extract probably has anti-gonadotropin and antiandrogenic characteristics because of beta-sitosterol ascorbic acid P-coumaric acid coumarin and aloe emodin. It can cause disorders in the secretion of gonadotropin hormone (FSH) and testosterone.

Background and Purpose: Liver is one of the vital organs which has a key role in regulating most physiologic mechanisms and any disorder in hepatic function can cause a series of physiologic and anatomical disorders and still other diseases. Since Mentha pulegium has been used extensively in traditional medicine the aim of the present investigation is to study of the effects of the Hudro-Alcoholic Extract of the Mentha Pulegium Leaves on hepatic functions. Methods and Materials: In this experimential study 50 Wistar male rats (about 220- 230 g) were used in five groups of tens including: control group receiving nothing sham group receiving distilled water and 3 experimental groups receiving 400 800 and 1600 (mg/kg) of the Hydro-Alcohol Extract of Mentha Pulegium Leaves respectively. The obtained data were analyzed by t-test using SPSS and Microsoft Excel. Results: According to the results there is a significant reduction in the level of ALT AST in experimental groups. In addition the level of ALP showed a significant increase. Regarding albumin and total protein there has been a decline in the experimental groups receiving the highest dose of the extract and asignifilant reduction in the total body weight in proportion to the increased dosage of the extract. Conclusion: The Hydro-Alcoholic extract of mentha pulegium leaves probably has a significant effect on hepatic function. This effect may be due to the presence of Flavonoids (Hesperidin diosmine) antioxidant tannin and pulegone in the extract. This effect is reflected in the reduction of ALT AST and the increase in ALP. Also it can be attributed to the decrease in the hepatic serum level of the albumin and total protein
